In Brief:
The Jellyfishfilter system, which is comprised of one or more Jellyfish filter cartridges in a specially designed vault, is a new product from Imbrium Systems that is designed to remove coarse and fine sediment, particulate-bound pollutants (such as nutrients and metals), oil and trash from stormwater. Each Jellyfish cartridgeconsists of multiple hollow membrane-encased filter elements, or “filtration tentacles”, attached to the cartridge head (manifold). Tentacles are composed of one to three 18-inch long tentacle segments that are connected end-to-end to form a continuous tentacle, with the two- and three segmented tentacles measuring 36 and 54 inches in length, respectively. Lightweight materials used in the cartridges allow a standard 54-inch cartridge to weigh less than 50 pounds when wet. Jellyfish filter cartridges are configured within a specially designed vault, resulting in a standalone system that removes oil, trash, and coarse sediment in a pretreatment stage prior to removal of fine sediment and attached pollutants (e.g. nutrients and metals) by the filtration tentacles.
